Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a dedicated Parks Operator II to maintain park grounds and operate equipment across county properties. You will be involved in mowing, weed control, sign and equipment maintenance, and basic vehicle repairs as part of daily duties.

Two years of related experience and strong communication skills are expected. This full-time role offers competitive pay and benefits, with opportunities to contribute to emergency management activities when needed.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of related experience.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions and operate equipment.
• Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to complete tasks timely.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, cuts and sprays weeds on county property.
• Repairs and replaces park signs and park equipment.
• Performs minor repairs to park vehicles.
• Operates heavy equipment as needed.
• Drives bus to and from special events to transport participants.
• Repairs and replaces park fencing and performs concrete work.
