Job summary

The City of College Park is seeking a Grounds Supervisor to oversee mowing, landscape maintenance, and street-scraping operations across parks and public buildings.

You will supervise the grounds crew, train staff, manage safety, and coordinate events while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and environmental stewardship for the City of College Park. Must be able to work weekends occasionally.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Two years of crew leader experience.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Georgia.
• Experience communicating with diverse communities and coordinating with others.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and understanding of organizational procedures.
• Extensive hours and weekends may be required.
• Pre-Employment screening including criminal background check and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Directs the grounds crew in duties and assignments.
• Maintains landscape management within the city.
• Keeps Superintendent aware of issues or problems.
• Trains and evaluates crew members in techniques and operations.
• Maintains grass around public buildings, parks, and right-of-ways.
• Operates weed eater and other grounds maintenance equipment.
• Maintains and repairs equipment.
• Some weekend work as needed with the crew.
• Leads and assists in event coordination and setup as requested.
• Assists other divisions as needed.
• Performs duties in compliance with safety standards.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
