Job summary

The City of Junction City, KS is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker I to perform a variety of duties in maintaining recreation facilities, grounds, and open spaces. You will operate light vehicles and equipment, assist with landscaping tasks such as mowing, watering, fertilizing, and weed control, and help with custodial duties and building maintenance.

The role requires at least 18, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license; work is predominantly outdoors with exposure

Qualifications

Knowledge of and ability to properly and safely operate relevant equipment and power tools.
Ability to work independently with assigned task instructions.
Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral communication.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.

Responsibilities

Maintains recreational facilities, open space areas, and parks.
Performs minor maintenance work such as painting, plumbing, and carpentry.
Performs custodial duties at recreational facilities and opens space areas.
Assists with landscaping tasks including fertilizing, watering, mowing, and weed control.
