Job summary

Bentonville Library is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to help maintain city parks and library grounds. Under general supervision, you will perform a variety of manual and semi-skilled tasks related to grounds, parks, buildings, and recreational areas.

Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, planting, and maintenance work with occasional repairs and equipment operation. This role requires mobility, adherence to safety rules, and the ability to work weekends or as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, plants trees, shrubs, or flowers according to instructions and planned design of landscaped area.
• Grubs and weeds around bushes, trees, and flower beds.
• Picks up and disposes of litter and trash from grounds and designated areas.
• Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks. Paints fences and outbuildings.
• Assists with athletic field preparation and general maintenance tasks.
