Job summary

City of Bentonville is seeking a reliable grounds maintenance worker to perform a variety of manual and semi-skilled tasks in parks, grounds, and recreational areas. Under general supervision, you will execute routine maintenance, operate tools, and support city projects and special events.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of related experience, and a valid driver’s license, with opportunities to obtain forklift and CPR certifications as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate with coworkers and the public.
• High school diploma or GED with two years related experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, plants trees, shrubs, or flowers per design and instructions.
• Trims and edges around walks, beds, and walls; applies fertilizers and pest controls as directed.
• Maintains tools and equipment; responds to city service needs during weather events.
• Drives vehicles and participates in repair of grounds, benches, fences, and related amenities.
• Assists with special projects and events as assigned.
