Job summary

Baltimore County's Department of Recreation and Parks is seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to upkeep parks, facilities and grounds. You’ll support turf, landscaping, and structural maintenance, operate vehicles and equipment, and help prepare athletic fields and playgrounds.

This full-time position requires physical labor, the ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and adherence to safety procedures. Promotion opportunities exist through the merit system.

Qualifications

• One year of grounds maintenance, lawn care, farming, greenhouse or nursery experience.
• Care and planting of grass, shrubs, and landscaping vegetation.
• Operation of commercial weight vehicles.
• Completion of written work orders and other job-related reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair park grounds, facilities, school recreation centers, and county-owned facilities.
• Plants, waters, cultivates, sprays, and cuts grass on park grounds.
• Perform turf, tree and shrub maintenance and repairs.
