Job summary

Prince William County Department of Parks and Recreation is hiring a Grounds Maintenance Skilled Worker for a full-time Grounds Technician role. You will maintain County parks, athletic fields, landscapes and other public spaces, using equipment to keep facilities safe and attractive.

The position requires 1 year of maintenance experience, outdoor work in varying weather, and the ability to collaborate with team members to meet daily needs and standards.

Qualifications

• 8th-grade education and 1 year of Maintenance and Operations experience.
• Experience maintaining turf, athletic fields, landscapes, and parks.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, aerate, seed, sod, edge parks and fields.
• Maintain and repair irrigation systems and field equipment.
• Prepare and line athletic fields and groom artificial turf.
• Work independently and with a team to keep facilities safe and welcoming.
