Job summary

City of Odessa is seeking a Parks Maintenance worker to perform general and semiskilled labor for cleaning and maintaining City parks. Responsibilities include mowing, weed control, trash cleanup, restroom upkeep, and event setup.

Under supervision, you will operate vehicles and tools in accordance with safety rules. High school diploma or GED preferred; experience in outdoor work is a plus. Valid Texas driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some outdoor work experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of basic safety procedures and regulations for grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor to maintain City parks, facilities, grounds, sports fields, playgrounds, and public areas.
• Mow, weed, water, prune trees/shrubs, and clean restrooms; manage trash and debris.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for special events; operate vehicles and equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety procedures, report hazards, and maintain attendance.
• Interact courteously with the public and City staff, maintaining confidentiality as needed.
