Job summary

City of Odessa is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to help keep our public buildings clean, safe, and in good working condition. This hands-on role requires reliability and a willingness to grow within the department.

You'll perform general maintenance tasks, assist with custodial duties, and learn more advanced repair tasks over time. The position is full-time with on-call 24-hour availability; safety rules must be followed and hazards reported to your supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of general labor, maintenance, or construction experience.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and a cell phone for City use.
• Must pass an FBI fingerprint background check and meet CJIS standards. Safety shoes provided and required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks like fixing small repairs, replacing parts, cleaning graffiti, and basic upkeep of city buildings and grounds.
• Assist with occasional custodial duties and learn more advanced maintenance and repair tasks over time.
• Follow safety rules and report hazards or equipment problems to supervisor.
