Job summary

The City of Cheyenne is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the Parks division. You will perform semi-skilled and skilled maintenance in city parks, operate heavy and light machinery, and support park operations. The role requires reliability, safety, and a strong work ethic in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities include grounds maintenance, equipment inspections, and assisting with special events. Physical endurance and willingness to work weekends or on-call shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Two years of field maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand tools and light equipment (mowers, trucks, carts); inspect and maintain equipment.
• Perform grounds maintenance: mow, trim grass, plant/maintain shrubs, lay sod, apply pesticides and fertilizers.
• Maintain athletic facilities: field prep, infields, dugouts, mound, warning track upkeep.
• Remove trash and debris daily; clean restrooms and shelters.
• Assist with playgrounds and minor repairs; participate in events and on‑call duties.
