Job summary

The City of Cheyenne is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of construction, maintenance, and repair work on city facilities and grounds. Under moderate supervision, you will handle skilled technical tasks and ensure safety and comfort for employees and the public.

Responsibilities include constructing and repairing furniture, installing doors and hardware, drywall and roofing repairs, and routine building inspections.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing construction, maintenance, and repair work involving skilled use of tools.
• Preferred: experience in welding, carpentry, plumbing and related construction tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled construction, maintenance, repair work and related services for City facilities including snow and ice control.
• Construct and repair office furniture such as desks, shelves, chairs, and other equipment.
• Install and repair doors, locks, closures, crash bars, door frames and hardware.
• Arrange offices and rooms within City facilities; repair drywall, framing, roofs, and windows; assist with plumbing installations.
• Inspect the Municipal Building before opening for business each day.
• Maintain trustworthy relationships with City offices and employees served.
