Job summary

The City of Lawrence is seeking a Parks Facility Maintenance Technician to perform unskilled and semi‑skilled labor across municipal parks and aquatic facilities in Lawrence, Kansas. You will help with daily maintenance, cleaning, and care of facilities, and participate in event setup and breakdown.

You will operate equipment, perform snow removal as needed, and may work evenings and weekends to support aquatic events and recreational programming.

Qualifications

• Equival ent to completion of the twelfth grade with 1–2 years of experience in facilities or park maintenance.
• Must have physical ability to walk, crawl, kneel or stand for prolonged periods and to move and lift moderately to heavily.
• Must pass background check, post‑offer city physical and drug screen; valid Kansas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform unskilled and semi‑skilled labor in daily maintenance for municipal parks, facilities, and aquatic facilities.
• Assist in setup and breakdown of major facility events.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment and participate in snow removal operations.
