Job summary

The City of Arkansas City is seeking a dependable Parks & Facilities Maintenance Technician to support maintenance and repair of City parks, facilities, and infrastructure, focusing on electrical systems, lighting, and traffic signal maintenance. The role requires hands-on problem-solving, adherence to safety, and commitment to making public spaces safe, clean, and functional.

A high school diploma and 3+ years in related work, CDL ability, and physical fitness are required; offer includes

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three (3) years in parks or facilities maintenance or related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on lighting systems and electrical components.
• Assist with maintenance and repair of traffic signals and related infrastructure.
• Diagnose and repair issues in parks, facilities, and grounds.
• Operate and maintain maintenance equipment and vehicles safely.
• Support park, facility, event, and cemetery maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety procedures and document work performed.
