Job summary

The City of Wentzville seeks a Senior Parks Construction Technician to lead field operations, supervise crews, and participate in major capital projects across city parks. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing concrete and masonry work, and coordinating maintenance tasks with the foreman.

The role requires several years in construction and a background in building trades, plus a valid driver’s license and safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in construction, maintenance or related building trades.
• Two years in a leadership role preferred.
• Certification/license or related training required.
• Experience reading construction blueprints/specifications.
• First-Aid/CPR certification within one year of hire.
• CDL Class A with airbrake preferred or ability to obtain within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead Field Operations: direct daily crew activities and coordinate workflow.
• Train and coach staff on maintenance, trades work, and safety, and evaluate performance.
• Assist Foreman with renovation and capital projects, plan work, estimate materials, track timelines.
