Job summary

The City of Wentzville is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead the planning and design approval of all public infrastructure. This role manages a team of engineers, collaborates with stakeholders, and ensures projects meet codes and City standards.

Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in project management and team leadership, with extensive knowledge of streets, utilities, and traffic-related design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering, Public Works, Construction, or similar.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Missouri Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.
• Knowledge of infrastructure design/construction for streets, sidewalks, traffic signals, and utilities.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, ArcGIS; familiarity with municipal design criteria and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Support construction inspectors and project managers during construction phase of permits and CIP projects.
• Oversee planning, coordination, and design approvals for private developments and public infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with codes and city standards in capital improvement projects.
• Organize programs, set priorities, and assign tasks for the team.
• Review residential/commercial development plans and internal public works projects.
• Provide engineering design/construction support to City divisions and departments.
