Job summary

The City and County of Denver’s Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Maintenance Technician to care for citywide parks amenities, including courts and fencing. You will work mostly independently within a small, specialized team to keep the public areas safe and well-maintained.

Duties include semi-skilled trades, repairs on sport courts and fencing, and assisting with equipment maintenance. A valid driver’s license is required; some after-hours work and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; HiSET/TASC accepted.
• One year of experience in construction, mechanical, or facility maintenance.
• Valid Driver's License at time of application; keep current.
• Equivalency: education and experience may substitute for minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled trades across multiple areas including welding, carpentry, locksmith, glazing, and more.
• Maintain and repair sport courts and fencing; assist in related maintenance tasks.
• Assist skilled trades workers with machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
• Install and repair floor tile, carpet, glass, insulation, and office furniture; assist with inspections and cost estimates.
• Operate light to heavy equipment such as plows, skid steers, and dump trucks; participate in snow removal duties as needed.
