Job summary

Provo City Corporation is seeking a Parking and Zoning Supervisor to supervise the city’s parking and zoning/code compliance team and ensure enforcement of regulations. The role reports to the Parking and Zoning Manager and supports proactive public service in Provo.

The position requires four years in code enforcement, a valid driver license, and leadership abilities. Provo City offers comprehensive benefits and a 4/10 work schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Four (4) years of experience in code compliance or support in a medium-to-large program, preferably in a city.
• A valid, lawful Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the daily work of the parking and zoning/code compliance team, helping staff stay organized and deliver great public service.
• Review and prioritize community concerns about parking, zoning, nuisance, and property maintenance issues, and ensure timely addressing.
• Conduct and oversee field inspections in neighborhoods and other locations to identify parking and zoning/code compliance problems.
• Investigate and enforce regulations related to illegal parking, abandoned or non-operational vehicles, illegal signs, unsafe conditions, and other nuisances.
• Keep clear, accurate case records by gathering information, taking photos, speaking with involved parties, and preparing reports.
• Communicate with residents and property owners to explain requirements, violations, and steps to correct issues.
• Prepare or review notices of violation, establish timelines for compliance, and track progress until cases are resolved.
• Coordinate enforcement actions with Police, Legal, dispatch, and other City departments.
• Oversee actions such as vehicle towing, contractor cleanup or abatement, and monitoring systems when needed.
• Hire, train, coach, and evaluate staff while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
