Description:


Manages the day-to-day operations of a large university programor department, including the supervision of staff employees,student workers, programs or processes.


1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a large orcomplex department or program.


2. Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budgetanalysis.


3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluatesperformance.


4. Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals,operations and procedure manuals, and other written material anddocumentation.


5. Creates and reviews reports of expenditures andactivities.


6. May administer grants and grant-related relatedcommunications, scholarships and other operations.


7. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies andprocedures.


8. May serve as property custodian for the department.


9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of boththeoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical orprofessional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than oneprofessional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normallyobtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree froma college or university or an equivalent in-depth specializedtraining program that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed.

  • Assisting with the coordination and oversight of dailymaintenance operations.

  • Supervising and supporting maintenance personnel to ensureproductivity, safety, and compliance with establishedprocedures.

  • Monitoring work order assignments, progress, and completion to improve service delivery and response times.

  • Supporting the planning and execution of preventive maintenanceschedules to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life.

  • Assisting with workforce scheduling, resource allocation, andoperational prioritization.

  • Ensuring adherence to university policies, safety regulations, and maintenance standards.

  • Providing operational support for facility emergencies andurgent maintenance issues.

  • Assisting with employee training, performance management, andprofessional development initiatives.

  • Developing and implementing process improvements to enhanceefficiency and service quality.

  • Performing additional management and technical duties asoutlined in the position description.


Work Schedule: This position is scheduled to work Monday throughFriday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Additional hours, includingevenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required to supportoperational demands, special events, and departmental needs.
