Job summary

City of Charleston is seeking a Parking Operations Assistant to support parking system operations, including cashier relief, patrols of garages, recording daily counts, and opening/closing duties.

The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends or holidays; emphasizes cleanliness, safety, teamwork, and courteous customer service. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required; prior related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Relieves parking system cashiers and custodians as needed and/or requested.
• Patrols parking garages and common areas, and completes incident reports.
• Assists in recording daily parking counts.
• Assists in opening and/or closing parking garages.
• Maintains cleanliness of parking garage common areas including, but not limited to stairs, elevators, lobby and offices.
• Assist parking system staff as needed.
• Assist with painting and other special projects.
