Position Summary
The Parking Services Liaison enforces traffic and parking regulations, assists in special events, and reports all irregularities, emergencies, or suspicious activity to the University Police Department. The Parking Services Liaison will report to the University Police Lieutenant.
This is a part-time position that works 29 hours per week for 10 months out of the year.
This position is not benefits-eligible.
Job Duties
- Patrol campus issuing citations for violations to the UIW Traffic & Parking Regulations.
- Deploy cones to block off spaces or parking areas as needed for various events and special requests.
- Assist students, faculty and staff with vehicle issues.
- Assist UIW PD with parking control; this may include sporting events, university hosted events, or any events designated by the university police department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Basic skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Strong communication skills, verbal, written, and interpersonal.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to be courteous yet firm with the public.
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and NCAA .
Required Education
High School diploma or its equivalent.
Required Work Experience
Training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong skills in the use of e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet software and use of the internet to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
- Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW .
Work Hours
- Monday through Thurs 8am to 2pm with flexibility based on campus needs.
- Friday 9am to 1pm with flexibility based on campus needs.
- Some Saturdays during “home” football game schedule and Light the Way.
- Work hours will only be during student Spring and Fall Semesters.
Physical Demands
- Ability to push/pull/lift traffic control equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
- Ability to regularly move about campus for most of shift.
- Ability to work outside in inclement Texas weather.
