Job summary

City and County of Denver is seeking a Vehicle Boot Investigator to enforce parking regulations and support ROWE operations in the DOTI division. The role requires familiarity with city parking rules, strong customer service, and the ability to handle demanding situations.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Two (2) years of experience enforcing parking regulation, municipal code or laws and regulations.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for one year of the minimum experience requirement.
  • Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application and must obtain Code Enforcement Commission.
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
  • Internal Candidates Only: probation status rules apply.

Responsibilities

  • Enforces the payment of parking fines, fees, or penalties by identifying, immobilizing, and releasing vehicles.
  • Investigates vehicles parked in various locations and searches for delinquent citations.
  • Immobilizes and/or impounds vehicles based on orders and serves notices as applicable.
  • Issues written notices to vehicle owner and explains codes and parking rules.
  • Issues citations for violations in the right-of-way to maintain safety.
  • Stays alert to dangers and potential hostility.
  • Operates vehicle and two-way radio during duties.
  • Maintains daily activity reports.
  • Coordinates activities of Parking Control Enforcement Teams.
