Job summary

SP+, a Metropolis Company, is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer in Akron, OH. The role focuses on monitoring streets and lots to enforce parking policies and to assist with related clerical duties.

You will provide directions and policy information to the public, issue citations, and may impound or relocate vehicles as needed. This position requires working alone, using judgment and diplomacy with the public, and supporting event staff.

Qualifications

• Must understand local parking regulations and enforcement procedures.
• Ability to operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle.
• Ability to use a handheld computer for ticketing.
• Must be able to walk for extended periods and work in all weather conditions.
• Excellent customer service and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor designated streets, lots, garages, or campus to ensure compliance with parking policies and supervise officers.
• Provide customer service by answering questions regarding directions, events, building locations and parking policies.
• Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance; impound, boot or relocate vehicles as directed.
• Work alone requiring good judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with people.
• Train enforcement officers in parking-related duties.
• Assist maintenance staff with parking equipment and facility upkeep and maintenance.
