State of Montana is seeking a Maintenance Worker 2 based in Missoula to maintain state parks, fishing access sites, and wildlife management areas. The role focuses on building and maintaining fences in mountainous terrain, weed control using various spray methods, and habitat maintenance in remote areas where encounters with wildlife may occur.

The position requires knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, welding, electrical and masonry work, and the ability to use GPS for mapping weed infestations.

Formación

• Combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma with three years of related experience.
• Experience in maintenance, construction, and grounds work on public facilities.
• Ability to operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Perform maintenance, repair, and improvement work at state parks, fishing access sites, and wildlife management areas.
• Assist in maintaining habitats and vegetation; manage grounds and facilities.
• Follow workflows and coordinate with supervisors and regional staff.
• Operate, map, and record spray tracts and weed infestations using GPS.
• Collaborate with team members and occasionally supervise others in absence of supervisor.
