Job summary

Natural Bridge State Park is accepting applications for Contact Ranger positions. Contact Rangers serve as the first point of contact for visitors at the Visitor Center, Trail Store, and Outpost cafe, where they also assist with food preparation.

The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation is hiring full-time state park staff. Minimum qualifications include excellent customer service, cash handling, and the ability to work varying shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform the highest standard of customer service to the general public and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner.
• Must be able to count money, perform daily register transactions, reconcile registers, and complete cash management paperwork.
• Ability to memorize and recall factual information.
• Candidates must excel in cash management.

Responsibilities

• Collecting entrance fees, registering campers, and providing information about the park and its facilities.
• Offering guidance and orientation regarding local activities and attractions.
• Processing gift shop merchandise.
• Keeping Visitor Center and Trail Store cleaned, stocked, and well-ordered.
• Developing park promotional displays, assisting with parking operations, and other duties as assigned.
• Works varying shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
