Job summary

Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation’s James River State Park is hiring a Contact Ranger to support visitors and daily park operations. You will provide high quality customer service, handle clerical tasks, and process daily revenues using the cash register.

You will also assist with maintenance of facilities and help keep retail areas stocked and welcoming. This role requires knowledge of park rules, the ability to work varied shifts including weekends, and reliability within a

Qualifications

• Provide high quality customer service to park visitors and guests.
• Operate computer, cash register, copier, handheld radio, and multi-line phone system.
• Maintain reliability in transportation and basic office operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality customer service.
• Perform clerical duties and operate office equipment.
• Reconcile daily cash revenue at the cash register.
• Be familiar with park rules, trails, and facilities.
• Perform daily cleaning of the contact station/visitor center, office area, restroom, and retail areas.
• Keep retail areas stocked and presentable.
• Work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
