Job summary

The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation is hiring a Contact Ranger at Caledon State Park to greet visitors, share park information, and collect parking fees. You will serve as the first point of contact and provide directions, answer questions about park programs, and help with fee details.

This position is year-round and part-time, working 3–4 days per week, including weekends and some evenings. You will operate a computer, cash register, and assist with park events as needed.

Qualifications

• Must provide high-quality customer service and communicate with guests.
• Able to operate a computer and cash register.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate a computer, cash register, and multi-line phone system.
• Provide accurate information on park fees, directions, pricing, passes, and programs.
• Keep the office/visitor center stocked and maintained daily.
• Sell merchandise and ensure sales area is well-stocked.
• Work mainly in the Visitor Center; assist with parking and park events.
• Perform other office duties as assigned.
