Job summary

Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority is seeking a Public Officer to maintain parking lots, issue citations, and assist visitors. The role includes responding to emergencies, performing park maintenance, and coordinating with vendors.

The position reports to a Supervising Ranger and requires independent work with the ability to manage multiple tasks and uphold safety standards. A strong customer service mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written English language skills are required.
• High school diploma or GED is required; a B.A. or B.S. degree is preferred.
• Two years of related enforcement or public safety experience is recommended.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electronic and mechanical pay stations.
• Collect and transport money from pay stations.
• Issue parking citations and perform traffic control.
• Open and close park gates and coordinate with vendors and other government entities.
• Perform routine maintenance on agency vehicles and equipment and remove graffiti as needed.
• Provide visitor service and respond to emergencies including medical and wildland fires.
• Deliver interpretive programs and coordinate with various agencies.
