Job summary

City of Greensboro’s Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Crew Member in Specialized Park Services to help keep Greensboro’s parks safe, beautiful, and thriving. The role includes installation and maintenance of playground equipment, safety inspections, event stage setups, and support for park operations.

The position is non-exempt, with a standard Monday–Friday schedule, and occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays. A CDL and safety certifications are preferred for career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Experience with mechanical work and/or carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair City-owned playground equipment.
• Conduct periodic safety inspections of playgrounds and parks.
• Deliver, set up, and take down portable stages for events.
• Assist with special event setups, including moving bleachers and installing barricades.
• Install and repair fences, replace worn sports and playground equipment, and move office furniture.
• Ensure high levels of customer service and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work outside in all weather conditions, including during inclement weather events.
