Job summary

City of Greenville seeks a Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of Recreation and Parks buildings and grounds. Duties include cleaning surfaces, moving furniture, and light repairs, with responsibilities across events and inclement weather.

Position requires a high school diploma or GED and typically one year of custodial experience; a valid driver’s license is required. Flexible schedule includes early mornings, weekends, and special events.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write sufficiently to complete required tasks.
• One year of experience in custodial/building facility maintenance is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including events, inclement weather or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, walls, windows, and fixtures using standard cleaning tools.
• Operate buffing machine to refresh wax finishes.
• Empty trash, replace light bulbs, and perform general janitorial tasks.
• Move and rearrange office furniture and equipment as needed.
• Perform minor repairs and notify supervisor about supplies and needs.
• Transport supplies and perform errands as required.
• Perform other related duties to support building operations.
