Job summary

Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks is seeking part-time Park Rangers to engage visitors, provide information, and ensure safe, clean parks. You will conduct rounds, assist with events, and support maintenance tasks while upholding park rules and safety procedures.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, Ohio driver license, and First Aid/CPR/AED certification or be able to obtain within six months. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; additional education in customer service or natural resources preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and handle attendance as an essential function.
• Basic math skills and the ability to follow instructions and protocols.
• Valid Ohio driver license and First Aid/CPR/AED certification required or within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interact with visitors and provide information, directions, and assistance.
• Perform light park maintenance and assist with events and programming.
• Respond to injuries or emergencies and initiate first aid protocols.
• Open and close parks, monitor safety, and conduct rounds for visibility.
• Support with signage, rules enforcement, and public relations.
