Job summary

Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks is seeking a part-time Park Ranger to assist visitors, enforce park rules, and provide basic first aid. Under supervision of Park Management, duties include public contact, information, safety checks, and light maintenance.

The role requires 21+ years of age, a High School diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid certification, a valid Ohio driver's license, and the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• HS diploma or GED or equivalent; customer service/related experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with coworkers and public.
• Strong customer service, communications and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Background check required and valid OH driver license.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to maintain safe, clean, and inviting parks for visitors.
• Welcome and assist visitors, answer questions, and provide basic directions or solutions.
• Explain park rules and facilities; guide visitors to shelters, picnic areas, and amenities.
• Conduct regular rounds for visibility and safety; report hazards or maintenance needs.
• Assist with special events, parking logistics, and program support.
