Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification required or to be obtained within three months.
• California Class C Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

The City of Corona is seeking an experienced and dedicated Park Ranger Supervisor to lead and support a team responsible for protecting and enhancing the City's parks, open spaces, and recreational facilities. This position provides an opportunity to combine leadership, field operations, public service, and community engagement while helping ensure that City parks remain safe, clean, welcoming, and enjoyable for residents and visitors. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can effectively supervise staff, coordinate daily operations, respond to challenging situations, and build positive relationships with the community and partner agencies. The Park Ranger Supervisor plays an important role in developing staff, maintaining high standards of service, and supporting the City's commitment to safe and vibrant public spaces.

Knowledge, Education, & Experience

Education:

• graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in recreation, public or business administration, or a closely related field AND

Experience:

• four years of increasingly responsible administrative facilities, parks, recreation, and trails experience involving budget and program development responsibilities, including one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Possession of, or successful acquisition within three months of employment, a valid CPR and first aid certification, to be maintained throughout employment.
• PC 832 training must be completed within six months of employment.
• Due to the performance of field duties which will require operation of a motor vehicle, a valid California Class C Driver's License and an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment and through employment is required.

• Plan, organize, assign, review and evaluate the work of full-time, part-time, and seasonal division staff; train staff in work procedures.
• Administer and manage a variety of programs and projects.
• Recommend comprehensive programs based upon community needs, available resources and overall City priorities and policies.
• Exercise sound professional judgment and respond sensitively to community issues and concerns.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
• Exercise sound independent judgment within departmental guidelines.
• Represent the City effectively in meetings with commissions, community groups, governmental bodies, City Communications team, and the public.
• Prepare clear, concise and complete documents, reports and correspondence.
• Conduct analyses and make accurate recommendations based on study finding.

THE ORGANIZATION

The City of Corona is a General Law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government. Policy making and legislative authority is vested in the City Council, consisting of a Mayor and four Council Members. Members of the City Council are elected by District to a four-year term. The Mayor is selected by the Council and serves as the presiding officer for one year.

The City is organized into the following departments/organizational units: Community Services, City Manager’s Office, Economic Development, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal and Risk Management, Police, Planning & Development, Public Works, and Utilities. Oversight of these departments is divided between the City Manager and an Assistant City Manager.
