Job summary

The City of Corona is seeking a strategic, community-focused Community Services Director to lead three divisions, guide major projects from concept to completion, and advance a broad range of recreational and cultural programs for residents.

You will mentor staff, build high-performing teams, collaborate across departments, and communicate confidently with City Council, commissions, and stakeholders, shaping a service-oriented, data-driven department that reflects the city’s values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, recreation administration, sociology, human relations, or related field.
• Ten (10) years of increasingly responsible professional recreation or public service experience, with a minimum of five (5) years of management experience.
• Possession of a valid California Driver's License, to be maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Community Services Department and its three divisions, ensuring quality programs and services.
• Lead strategic planning, program development, and project delivery from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with City leadership, City Council, commissions, and external partners to move organizational priorities forward.
