Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience working with the public and/or in customer service.
• Written and verbal skills in public speaking and communications.
• Ability to solve problems and develop solutions.
• Ability to work with teams or independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with 2-way radios, electronic devices, and computers, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Requires meeting DCJS certification steps within 12 months and obtaining DCJS certification within 18 months.
• A valid driver’s license is required; must be a U.S. citizen, 21 years old, and high school graduate or GED.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a sworn, commissioned law enforcement officer for the Department of Conservation and Recreation.
• Patrol properties by vehicle, on foot, and by other modes of transportation.
• Respond to incidents, investigate felonies and violations, and protect park resources.
• Assist with events, search and rescue operations, and safety services for park visitors.
• Maintain park boundaries, signage, and quarterly trail inspections.
