The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's DCNR seeks a Ranger Trainee to support Little Pine State Park. This hands-on role builds skills in visitor assistance, safety, park protection, and law enforcement under supervision.

You will learn to respond to emergencies, complete daily logs, and help enforce park rules while preparing for a career in public service. The position is seasonal and requires accurate, responsible work.

Qualifications

• Completion of 15 college credits in natural or environmental sciences.
• Six months of experience providing visitor services in a public park, forest, recreation area, or a related outdoor education setting.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Park patrols of grounds, facilities and boundaries to ensure visitor safety and rule compliance.
• Provide information, assist visitors with concerns, and prepare permits and documents.
• Respond to accidents, safety issues and urgent situations and assist with first aid as required.
• Record daily and monthly details on facilities, equipment, incidents, attendance, and safety conditions.
• Support enforcement of park regulations and state laws under supervision.
