Job summary

Florence County is seeking a Park Ranger for Lynches River County Park. The role enforces park rules, provides visitor information, and helps manage the park’s recreational and natural resources.

Essential duties include patrolling, custodial tasks, coordinating maintenance needs with supervisors, and preparing park facilities for events. A valid SC driver’s license and First Aid/CPR certification are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of general maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of park natural areas and resource management is desirable.
• Must have a valid S.C. driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the park to enforce rules and protect facilities.
• Perform custodial work to keep facilities clean, attractive, and safe.
• Conduct regular park walk-throughs with supervisor to identify maintenance needs.
• Prepare facilities for events, check in customers, and secure buildings after events.
• Collects fees and completes related documentation, reconciling funds.
• Operate various small and large equipment (hand tools, tractor, backhoe).
• Assist in planning the park’s maintenance program and related duties.
