Job summary

State of North Carolina’s Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation, is seeking a Park Ranger II to perform law enforcement duties, provide educational programs, and manage park operations at Bob’s Creek State Natural Area in Nebo, NC. This role requires on-site work with rotating shifts and emergency response capabilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience interpreting laws, educating the public and working with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and enforce criminal laws and park rules.
• Patrol by vehicle and on foot; coordinate with local, state or federal agencies.
• Present evidence in law enforcement actions and court processes.
• Supervise Park Ranger I and temporary staff and oversee facilities.
• Lead interpretive and educational activities about ecology and history of the park.
• Respond to safety or emergency incidents and provide first aid or EMS support.
• Provide security for large events and assist visitors as needed.
