Job summary

The State of Nevada's Nevada Division of State Parks is seeking a Park Ranger 2 underfilling for a Park Supervisor 2 to manage Cathedral Gorge State Park, the Regional Visitor Center near Panaca, and Beaver Dam State Park. The role includes supervising staff, budget oversight, maintenance, and public safety duties in a commission-based environment.

Residency in Nevada is mandatory, with eligibility for transfer from Park Ranger I and potential completion of the NV POST academy if not already

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in park management or related field.
• One year of professional park ranger experience in park operations and maintenance.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in day-to-day park operation and maintenance projects.
• Supervise and evaluate assigned seasonal personnel.
• Clean and maintain park buildings, grounds, offices, restrooms, and vehicles.
• Schedule and assign personnel to collect fees and staff visitor centers.
• Enforce state laws, park rules, and safety procedures; respond to emergencies.
• Develop and implement resource management plans and special events.
