Job summary

The City of San Bernardino invites applications for a part-time Recreation Specialist in the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department. You will develop and supervise diverse programs serving the community and promote a welcoming, inclusive environment for participants of all ages.

You may work extended shifts, weekends, or rotational duties, with emphasis on safety, service quality, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 1 year paid or two years of volunteer experience as a primary instructor in social and cultural activities or in the development of special events programs; or a combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, promote, and supervise recreational activities.
• Oversee an assigned recreation facility and staff; lead programs and support community events.
• Maintain program records, monitor facilities and equipment, and provide excellent customer service.
