Job summary

The Winnetka Park District is seeking a Park Planner to lead master plan execution, oversee capital project timelines, and coordinate site planning and design initiatives. This role integrates community input, sustainability goals, and regulatory requirements into project development.

The Park Planner reports to the Director of Parks & Maintenance, supports budgeting, and maintains park data and records across the district's properties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Public Administration, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Forestry, or related field.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in parks and maintenance.
• Experience overseeing construction and capital improvement projects.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Computer skills with CAD-based programming, Microsoft OS, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of GIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of master plan priorities and coordinate site planning and design initiatives.
• Oversee capital project timelines and assist with Parks Department budget process.
• Integrate community input, sustainability goals, and regulatory requirements into project development.
• Maintain park data, maps, records, and related documents.
