Job summary

May Forest State Park in Charleston County seeks a dedicated position to assist with the operation, maintenance, and development of a brand-new state park. The role will support administrative activities and public-facing programs guiding community engagement.

The incumbent will work closely with agency stakeholders, deliver public speaking engagements, and help advance May Forest State Park initiatives and progress development.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Park Management or related field with 1 year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administrative activities including receiving and documenting revenues, preparing reports and making payments.
• Supervise operational areas such as retail sales, day-use areas, camping, cabins and other overnight facilities.
• Provide office support including calls, correspondence, document filing and retrieval systems.
• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on buildings and grounds as needed.
• Interpret cultural and natural resources for park visitors and educate the public.
• Support public relations, education and recreation activities; enforce park rules and policies.
• Collaborate with agency teams and stakeholders; participate in agency projects throughout the year.
