Job summary

Buncombe County Government is seeking a Recreation Services Facility Assistant to support daily park operations at Buncombe County Sports Park. The role requires outdoor work, customer service, and light maintenance with shifts that include evenings and weekends.

The position offers a part-time schedule around 17 hours per week, a chance to work on a small team, and exposure to event setup, custodial duties, and public programming support in various county recreation sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer services or maintenance work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote good public relations and communication with citizens using the park and recreation facilities.
• Participate in various fee collection, event registration, and evaluation activities.
• May perform a variety of duties associated with the daily use of park areas and facilities.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings and nights as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
