Job summary

Buncombe County Government is seeking a Recreation Services Facility Assistant to support daily park operations at Buncombe County Sports Park. This role involves public interaction, event setup, custodial tasks, and light maintenance in an outdoor setting with a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service or maintenance experience. A valid NC driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer services or maintenance or equivalent.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Promote good public relations and communication with park visitors.
• Assist with event setup, registration, and evaluation activities.
• Perform daily park maintenance duties, including cleaning and trash removal.
• Open, monitor, and close park facilities; work weekends and evenings as needed.
