Job summary

Buncombe County Parks & Recreation is seeking a Recreation Facility Assistant to support daily park operations at Buncombe County Sports Park. The role involves opening/closing facilities, assisting visitors, and performing light maintenance as part of a small, collaborative team.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of relevant experience, and a valid NC driver’s license. Shifts include weekday evenings and weekends, with about 17 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of customer service or maintenance experience.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and nights as needed.
• Physical ability to perform medium to light exertion.

Responsibilities

• Greet park visitors and provide information.
• Open, monitor, and close park facilities.
• Assist with trash pickup and janitorial tasks.
• Perform light maintenance tasks as needed.
• Support events and operations as required.
