Job summary

Peoria Park District is seeking a skilled grounds maintenance supervisor for Lakeview Park in Peoria, IL. The role focuses on maintaining facilities and grounds, supervising staff and volunteers, and ensuring safety and compliance with park district standards.

The position requires a relevant degree or extensive experience, pesticide licensing, and the ability to manage budgets and schedule maintenance tasks across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 2+ years in grounds maintenance; extensive experience may substitute.
• Experience operating tractors, mowing equipment, and grounds maintenance machinery.
• Must obtain a valid pesticide applicator license; valid Illinois driver's license required.
• supervisory experience required; able to manage multiple staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Lakeview Park buildings, facilities and grounds for appearance.
• Mow grass, trim shrubs, care for plants, and maintain athletic fields as needed.
• Perform and supervise preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Schedule maintenance work, track time records and expend budgeted amounts.
• Ensure safety of buildings/grounds and report hazards immediately.
• Supervise full-time, part-time, volunteers and partners in maintenance ops.
• Coordinate setup, teardown for meetings/events; assist with park budgets.
