Job summary

Gloucester County is seeking a Park Supervisor to oversee operations at Beaverdam Park and other county park facilities. This full-time role involves leading full-time, part-time, seasonal staff, and volunteers to ensure safe, well-maintained parks and excellent public service.

Under the Parks Superintendent, you will recruit, train, schedule, manage resources, and coordinate with other departments. A high school diploma and 3–5 years in park operations with supervisory experience are required,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, supplemented by college coursework, technical training, professional certifications, or other education related to parks and recreation, natural resource management, grounds maintenance, facility management, public administration, or a related field.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in park operations, grounds or facility maintenance, recreation, natural resource management, or a closely related field, including at least two (2) years of supervisory or lead-worker experience.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervises park operations and personnel.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates staff.
• Coordinates staff scheduling and accountability.
• Oversees park grounds, facilities, and maintenance.
• Coordinates preventive maintenance and manages equipment and assets.
• Manages supplies, materials, and purchasing.
• Oversees workplace safety and hazard communication.
• Promotes public safety and compliance with park regulations.
• Oversees daily public operations and facility use.
• Provides customer service and manages revenue-related activities.
• Supports programs, special events, and community activities.
• Coordinates with other County departments and outside organizations.
