Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking a mid-level Park Manager for Hawn State Park. The role oversees park operations, facilities, grounds, revenue, and safety, with responsibilities in staff supervision and resource stewardship. The candidate will manage visitor services, ensure regulatory compliance, and respond to emergencies.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and preferred certifications in process improvement. Availability for weekends and flexible shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university can include Park Management, Parks and Rec, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Botany, Biology, Natural Sciences, Business of Public Administration or related field.
• Preferred: Lean Six Sigma training or certification and Missouri Way, Leadership Academy or similar programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a mid-level manager to assist in the management of all aspects the Hawn State Park.
• Assist in the management of facilities and grounds, infrastructure, campground operation, visitor services, revenue collection, budget planning and procurement, employee relations, and natural and cultural resources.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate seasonal maintenance staff in safety, risk management, equipment operations and facility maintenance; conduct monthly safety meetings.
• Enforce park rules and regulations in a courteous, safe, and professional manner.
• Respond to medical emergencies, personal injuries, natural disasters, or lost hikers within the park.
