Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation Department is seeking a Park Services Superintendent to lead a growing team across parks, greenways, and facilities. You will manage budgets over $4M, oversee work orders, and drive safety initiatives.

The role requires data-driven planning and strong partnership building with stakeholders. The ideal candidate has 6+ years in recreation or facility management, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or related field.
• Minimum six years in recreation/facility/project management.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Valid driver's license with county driving privileges.

Responsibilities

• Supervise County employees and contractors on park construction and maintenance projects.
• Oversee budgeting, master schedules and capital planning for division.
• Lead communication with the public, consultants and agencies.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets and safety initiatives.
• Inspect facilities and coordinate with internal/external partners.
• Review plans prepared by outside consultants and ensure code compliance.
