Job summary

The Park District of Highland Park is seeking an experienced Park Maintenance II – Trades to inspect, maintain, and repair park facilities. Responsibilities include addressing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry or masonry tasks as assigned, following district policies, and completing work safely and efficiently.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with five years of field maintenance experience and a relevant trade certification preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required; five years of field experience in park/facility maintenance; trades certification preferred.
Experience reading sketches and blueprints; ability to follow manuals and operating instructions.

Responsibilities

Based on trade skill, perform plumbing and/or electrical maintenance and other trade tasks for parks and facilities.
Maintain and repair field irrigation systems; inspect and repair park amenities.
Inspect, repair, and paint facilities and equipment; install and repair playground equipment.
Set up and maintain aquatic areas and activities; manage equipment and tools.
Remove snow from designated areas and assist with turf maintenance and landscape work.
Attend seminars/workshops for professional growth and participate in staff meetings.
