Job summary

Mayor and City Council of Baltimore is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker II to perform skilled park maintenance and lead a crew of workers in municipal parks. Responsibilities include driving, operating vehicles and equipment, and assisting with training at the worksite.

The role requires two years of park maintenance experience, a valid Maryland Class C license with a Baltimore City permit, and relevant certifications. Work is outdoors with exposure to weather and physical activity.

Qualifications

• Education: Have graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.
• AND Experience: Have a minimum of two years of experience in performing park or grounds maintenance, horticulture, landscape, turf maintenance or related park work.
• Licenses, Registrations, and Certificates: Have a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or equivalent and Baltimore City permit; upload license with application.
• Certification: At least one relevant park maintenance/turf management certification from Maryland/NRPA or equivalent body.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a crew of workers at park sites, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
• Operate vehicles and equipment (including those requiring a CDL) and transport personnel/materials to work sites.
